Hi, I’m Ukasha! I am a person from Pakistan and of Muslim heritage. I recognize through lived experience, the challenges that our mental health can face.

When I am not busy and committed to my work as a psychotherapist, I spend time with my husband, teenagers and cats!

About Therapy with Ukasha: We were not meant to be perfect, but we were meant to be whole. My life’s passion is to support individuals and their families through significant life challenges to develop a sense of completeness and fulfilment. To do that, I create a safe space of empathy, trust and understanding for healing, growth and resilience to evolve. My mission is to help persons overcome difficulties, build self-esteem and resilience, increase confidence; and most importantly, discover peace and love within themselves.

I work from a variety of modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Adlerian Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Gottman Method, and Internal Family Systems Therapy. These modalities help unpack what may be at the core of your concerns and improve your ability to cope with the challenges that brought you to therapy while using a trauma-informed lens, emotion-focused and psychodynamic approach.

I believe that asking for help and being vulnerable takes great courage. Therefore, by establishing a healthy therapeutic relationship through a non-judgemental, empathetic, collaborative, and psychodynamic approach, I help you unpack what may be at the core of your concerns and improve your ability to cope with the challenges that brought you to therapy.

Some areas that I can help you with are Trauma, Anxiety, Depression, Relationship Challenges, Grief and Bereavement, Anger Management, Sexual Intimacy, Communication and Boundary Setting Skills, Self-Esteem and Self-Confidence.

In order to provide a person-centred and relational approach, I utilize different modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Internal Family Solutions Therapy, Gottman Therapy, Adlerian Therapy and Gestalt Therapy. These modalities assist in helping you establish healthy boundaries, explore your strengths, solve problems, focus on solutions, overcome limiting beliefs and process attachments.
